Well, we've been here just over a week and if you don't count how much we miss our family and friends then we are l.o.v.i.n.g. Stephenville! Phillip is getting settled in at school and assures me he is making friends [please, Lord, just let 'em be good ones!] and he starts doing after school track practice today. He seems to be okay with me having to work so much but I am going to start looking for something that has better hours.
We attended another Cowboy Church on Sunday morning. They had been meeting in a sale barn but recently got the land to start building their new church so right now they are meeting in a huge tent they have set up on the new land. It was pretty cool. Reminded me of the old time revivals- of course, I've never been to one but I've heard plenty about 'em. The guest band playing was the
Baggy Bottom Boys! Only in a Cowboy Church! And it was standing room only inside that big tent which is enough to make your heart glad to see God is filling up every crevice so that we may hear His word! Downside, hay bales- and hay spread out on the 'floor' of the tent- my allergies and hay don't mix in enclosed areas, but the sneezing and watery, itchy eyes were worth it. I'm having some trouble with separation anxiety from my church in Goldthwaite but I know God has led me here and I know He will put me where I need to be but I miss the familiar.... Phill really did like it and we are gonna go and try bible study and youth group on Wednesday night.
I would also ask for prayer for a lifelong friend of mine, her 2 yr old grandson passed away last week following a bout of pneumonia- he was born with severe brain damage and each day he was on this earth was a testament to the miracles that God still performs each and every day... Please pray for this family as they grieve- even when we know God has only entrusted these tiny lives for a short time- it is still a blow when we lose them.
Peace and God Bless.
